Critique our sites background

We have had similar colors throughout the years, but wanted to get other designer opinions on what ideas you may have for a background.

I have a thread in the forum section from years ago, but don't want people going thru the entire thread just to look for this one question of critiquing our background.

Is it sad that I can immediately tell that it's from subtlepatterns?

Personally I like it, but IMO the fabric effect is on the way out. Trends are moving towards clean, flat, simplicity and the fabric just brings back thoughts of iOS6 and skudomorphism - which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but certainly a consideration.

I quickly used the subtlepatterns.com bookmarklet (http://bradjasper.com/subtle-patterns-bookmarklet/) to try out a few backgrounds - give it a shot its very helpful. One that stood out as looking really nice on your site was 'PS Neutral'. 'Grid noise' also looks pretty nice.
