XF 2.1 Create own Nagivation and HTML pages in XenForo

I am upgrading from XenForo 1.5x to 2.1x. I found the option "setup/Public navigation" to expand the default XenForo menu.

Question: How can I create own html content pages, which loads into the XenForo framework / container, when clicked?
Is there template which can be customized?

In the ACP, go to Forums > Nodes and then click the "Add node" button. Use node type "page".

Pages are really useful, and are pretty flexible. Here is a link to my wife's site (she doesn't use it anymore, but I keep it updated), the home page is a page node: page example
