Conversion Time Estimate

I have a forum with the following stats: Threads: 1,291,566, Posts: 19,532,143, Members: 292,095
I'm currently running vBulletin 3.8.9 and obviously need to either upgrade or convert to another software.
I'm not a fan of vB5 at all so converting to Xenforo is an option on the table.

How long would a conversion with those numbers take and what's the likelihood of problems?

It would vary depending on a number of factors, plus it would be wise to do a number of test imports first before doing it a final time with a view to going live.

In XF2 we have a built in CLI importer which should be slightly quicker and more reliable than the web interface.

The biggest factor on time would probably be the performance of the server.

I haven’t personally done many VB imports so @Slavik might be able to give an idea.

Built in importers on posts you should consider ~45 minutes per million posts, but this is obviously hugely influenced by server specs, lookups needed. The big board importer would be much better suited for a forum of this size.
