Contact form spam

We have the spam situation on our forum under control, where StopForumSpam and Akismet do a good job. The contact form, however, is a different story. Spam keeps piling up in the inbox where messages are sent.

What is the best way to combat contact form spam? Is it possible to run it through Akismet?

This works so good that I've not had any spam on my forum or on our "contact us". We even let GUEST post on our site

Guess he needs to clarify that it works in the contact us (I wouldn't classify that as a post).
I use @tenants TAC utilities and just use the CustomImgCaptcha for the contact us. Pretty much eliminates bots.

I gave this plugin from @W1zzard a try:

Seems to be doing just what it says, and a Captcha on the contact form should help, without making user registration more difficult.

I just have the normal XF setup running with the question and answer set and have to date never had any spam on the contact us option.
