Clicking "edit" destroys nested unordered list items in cursive

I have a list like this:

• first item
• second item
• Something that will get deleted after edit.
  
  • firs sub item
  • second subitem

I can send a post like that and it would save, but if click edit the nested item in cursive gets removed.
