Chunked upload

Hello...

Is XenForo still not using chunked upload? I'm really careful to use addons for this since they can stop being updated. And in all honesty, chunked uploads should be standard these days in any community script like this, with files, images, videos etc. being bigger and bigger.

Anyway, was just wondering as I haven't updated in a while and looking to switch from IPS which is the only software that I know of handles chunked uploads built in.

Not something we have gotten around to yet but almost certainly something we will do at some point but we don't have an ETA at present.

As resolutions on images and videos continue to go up, the ability to upload them becomes more challenging if the file is only sent via one connection. Breaking the same file into smaller pieces for the upload bypasses any server or proxy limitations and allows for nearly unlimited upload sizes.

I'll make you a deal. If it breaks at some point due to an XF upgrade and @JulianD is no longer around I'll fix it myself, assuming we've not implemented it ourselves by then

I'll be happy to keep it updated until XF releases it as part of the product .

I haven't used it, but I'd assume it would work for any Add-on that uses standard XenForo attachment system.

Well, I will need a confirmation before I purchase since it's been 18 months since last update of the add-on according to it's resource page so excuse me for being hesitant.

The resource description indicates it is compatible with anything that uses the default attachment system which the resource manager does.

I can confirm it works fine with XFMG, maybe it will also work fine with XFRM.

Yeah, I believe it even say in the resource description that it supports XFMG. That was after a update. So still need confirmation. I don't trust "should" or "maybe".
