I actually like it, even better if it wasn't 2.5 seconds, but permanent whilst you are hovering it.

I couldn't get it to work by placing a 0 in the excerpt. It pretty much disables any posts or quotes to the chat box by doing this. Further, when I do place a 50 for example, for an except, it doesn't show the broken image anymore ... but it doesn't show the image as a thumbnail either - which is what i'm looking for. Any suggestions, Siropu, on getting an image that's quoted from a post to appear in the chat box?
Side suggestion: Ability for users to select their own color for their name (just like the color picker and text)

I think it would look a lot nicer/cleaner if you put it under a popup to the left of the user mini avatar. That's what I did to mine and made the timestamp appear only on hover. Sheldon also did this and looks nice.

The questions above are great. I am basically 100% against chats and shoutboxes as they just eat your forums (the activity that could be helping your forums grow goes in to a chat instead and gets pruned/deleted with nothing to show for it).
However...
A selling point for me would be if you could do Private Messaging similar to Facebook. That would basically be taking the Conversations and making them more sleek. In addition to this, it would be amazing if there was an option to dump all chat comments in to a respective forum so nothing was lost. Granted, some of the discussion may not be very meaty, but having the option to do that and lot lose everything would be great.
Me personally, if I had this chat now, I would only open a respective chat room titled "Event" as an example, during special streamed events. Doing this would potentially encourage your users to use your "stream chat" instead of the chat on Twitch.
EDIT: Also, what is the load like for this chat? If you have 200-300 members online and potentially chatting... would I have to have a mega server to support the chat alone?

Now it looks like status updates on mobile, not a chat (at least to someone who used and still uses the IRC (internet relay chat) and irssi
And well TaigaChat for that matter handled the mobile view much better too.With some tweaks this chat can become excellent, just needs some little work still to make the user experience (even) better.

@m3commish, make sure you have uploaded and replaced the old files with the latest ones.
@STORMS, I'm thinking of developing a private chat separately from this Add-on and I have some cool ideas for it.
@Shiro, a "Speed Mode" will break most of the features. How many chatters do you have at the same time? Are you using the "Refresh chatters list every x seconds" and "Update session every x seconds" options?
As for the other 2 suggestions, we'll see if it's suggested by others too.

Only differences I see are I left timestamp, just had it lightly visible, and changed my user button options a bit.

That would be amazing and would be something that I would definitely consider for my forum. Any thoughts on the ability to dump posts in to a forum instead of having them deleted?

It means that we have to assign a room to someone (new feature also?) Then, it would make sense to have moderators being assigned to one chat only, directly from the front end. (The one with permissions could be a supermoderator for the whole addon.)
Have you thought about adding some trophies for this addon?
What about adding a mute command?
