XF 2.1 Change style according to User Custom Field?

I want to do something like:

if ($user_custom_field.gender=='female') {

    .block.block--category.block--category1 .block-header {
        background: pink;
    }

} else {

    .block.block--category.block--category1 .block-header {
        background: green;
    }  

}

But extra.less doesn't accept conditions. So how do I do it?

Create two different CSS classes and conditionally set one of them on the desired element (in node_list_category) instead.
