Not a bug Radio user custom field

When I try to create user fields Radio always displays a blank one.
is it a bug?

Is the field marked as required? If not, users are not required to enter a value and so a blank option is displayed.

Super secret cheeky question - Is any work on features/changes being done for custom fields in 2.3 / 3.0 ? It definitely needs some love.

There are certainly improvements we would like to make, but I can't make any version/time commitment.

Just going of the images & my own testing this is a non "required" option so I would say everything is as intended.

(Required text is usually displays under title )
