XF 2.0 Change Password Link asks for Old Password

I have a user that reported the following problem:

1) Forgot password,
2) Clicked link to send an email to change password,
3) Promptly received email,
4) Clicked link in email to change password,
5) Link worked,
6) Site asks for Old Password.

What am I missing here? Without forcing a password reset from the admin menu, I'm not sure how to troubleshoot this problem for him?

Could you go into a little more detail about points 5 and 6?

What do you mean by “Link worked”? The link is supposed to take you to a form where you can choose a new password.

What do you mean by “Site asks for old password”? When does it do that? Clearly the forgot password process shouldn’t ask you for the old password.

We might need to see screenshots of the process to verify what is going on.

“Link worked” = the link in the email takes the user to a legimate link, that is to say it takes the user from their inbox to a forum page. The problem is that it doesn’t appear to be a page that allows you to change your password after having lost it.

It sounds to me like your board member thought that the new password page was asking for their old password rather than setting a new password and confirming it to me - though if not, an add-on is probably breaking things.
