Not a bug Cannot save admin permission for private node

Hello!
I am trying to make a private node so where only admin and mods can enter, so I tick the yes box and hit save but I get this error even after I checked the private box previous to this page.

If you open the browser console, what does it show? (Press F12.)

I get a 403 permission error,
but I uninstalled that copy of XF and reinstalled but now I get a 404 error when I check the use friendly url box.
Do you know what that might be about?

The friendly URLs thing would be a totally unrelated issue (so would require a troubleshooting thread -- it will be a configuration issue on your server, not a bug).

But just to confirm, you can no longer reproduce the originally reported bug, and now have no way of troubleshooting it further?
