Can Media Albums Be Added To A Category?

I am playing around with the Media add-on on a demo version of XF, since we are planning to purchase the add-on for our community.

One thing I'm confused on is can albums be added to a category (or listed under a category) or only individual media items can be added to a category?

Because in my set-up, I do not want members to directly be able to upload to a category - it should be a album tagged under a category. Is this achievable?

I see, but as what I see at least "site" categories can be deleted/not used at all (giving members to create albums only)?

If that's in place, should be enough (for now) with the tagging system

That's correct - you can actually change the permissions so people can't view categories and don't see any reference of them.

Bear in mind, though, that staff by default will see some mention of categories in some places because they have the override media privacy permission by default which forces them to be able to see all categories.

You'll see what I mean if you test it with a staff user and a normal user.
