XF 2.3 Can a Self-Hosted XenForo Be Moved to XenForo Cloud?

I'm considering buying an existing XenForo forum that is currently self-hosted. However, I would prefer to run it on XenForo Cloud, since I don’t want to deal with server management


Is it possible to migrate a self-hosted XenForo installation to XenForo Cloud?


If so, does the XenForo team assist with the migration process, or would I need to handle the transfer myself?


I'd like to understand what the process looks like before moving forward with the purchase

In most cases you won't need to handle server management unless you opt for an unmanaged dedicated server. Plenty of hosting companies take care of everything for less than the cost of the cheapest XenForo Cloud plan.

they would not manage your xenforo install for you though as the license is in your name and only you can access the latest download files. cloud is a great option for someone for whom the cloud costs are not significant enough to look for alternatives.

The downloads are available from within the forum's admin panel. So long as a person has a super admin login, they can keep it updated without needing to log into the customer account. Its been this way for years.
