Could you afford it >_>?

If needed I could sell some of my assets, I keep very little liquid cash around, the majority of my net worth is in shares and stakeholdings.

Also, a liquidation company will sell the property to the highest bidder, auction style...

If nobody knew who the liquidation company was, or when the auction took place, then potentially it could sell for a quid.

There is a positive - it gives XF more time to earn revenue from license sales ... (y)

With the release of 1.1 this is only going to increase further. :D

There will be a delay whilst IB further prolong matters to present their additional material. During that time XF can be further developed, sold to more clients, spread further, and generate more revenue!! (y)

In that same time, other forum owners may decide to leave their current software provider and join XF. :D

Even if IB won...Whats the point? vB sales seems to be at a new downlow and people won't upgrade to 4 and many many people have either moved to IPB or xF or a free solution do to the turn off that became to be known as vBulletin 4. I don't see how them winning this case will help vB in anyway. If anything they are trying to take someone down with them.

Rocky road but I'm not going anywhere. If I could buy another license I definitely would even if it sat there. For the first time in awhile XenForo makes you feel like you opinion matters. I know XF will prevail in the end and this is literally just a circus act that has come to town that's unwanted, it'll pass. Hang in there guys

Interestingly, my post about who owns them appears to be a bit out of date. As stated in another post after that, IB is now owned by Hellman & Friedman.

I think this actually makes it worse because it is a new acquisition and they will be fighting to keep it solvent.
Exactly, although this is a double-edged sword which is why I stated they have more to lose.

What richness are you talking about ? I am working very hard to provide my families needs. Now i have to spare tons of lawyer costs which i should be spending to my daughter.

I am very sorry they are now going after you. I thought there was some other people they are now going after as well. I hope this all can be resolved.

I'm not taking about IB winning, I'm talking about the delay; it shouldn't add too much to XFs costs to sit and wait, and in that time XF can earn more revenue and build more business and kudos and get lots of new features built in and released to customers and prospective customers. (y)

I have one licence that just sits there dormant(My Play Toy) to support Xenforo. Looks like I will be buying another one in a few weeks to offer up more support. Every licence has to cover at least 10 minutes of the lawyer fees. Soon as Xenforo has what I need I will convert my vBulletin site. Not because Kier and Mike persuaded me to in anyway. I for one love the Xenforo software, and for two the vBulletin code went to crap once IB took over and released vB4 and it is causing me nothing but problems.

Agreed! I already own my second xF license and I just ordered a new dedicated server for my latest project which will be powered by xF.

I want what you are smoking. Each new charge and witness has to be researched and defended against individually. This results in billable hours. It's costing them a fortune to add this new stuff!

That's all its ever been about. For the things they're claiming, they should have IPB, MyBB and every other BB developer in court for copyright of what they claim they own for bulletin board features.

I expect nothing more than VB to use every tactic to draw this out... it doesn't necessarily drain XF legally, because once claims are sought factually, there is nothing else to do apart from await trial; what it does is it puts stress on staff which affects performance and uncertainty within the minds of potential customers whether to buy now or wait.

VB won't get XF software, that won't happen... but they will make life as difficult as possible to give them time to rebuild their own platform and create a competitor to what XF has become. XF is impacting VB and IPB... so that says a lot about how catchy this software is.

VB may even drop everything at that point, achieving their aim... being they've bought themselves time for a complete rebuild of their software, whilst putting uncertainties in the air for customers buying XF and stress upon XF owners towards development, even though its a safe purchase... some people spook easier than others.

The US legal system may be broken... though its not out of sight for a judge to want to hear 'every' piece of possible information, though I don't believe they're stupid either, and after x time will stop being lenient with any extensions and seeing someone exploiting them personally, for what its worth, to drag it out.

My two cents!

// KAM could potentially carry jail time on the wire fraud and hacking charges.

I can't believe that is even a possibility! If that were to happen, I would become one of the protesters in front of the courthouse!
