XenForo is costing VBSI a lot of money, stated in their FAC.
This is ******* disgusting
Agreed.
I definatly won't be using any IB products after seeing how low they're willing to go
Mind you, it is rather comical that they've printed disgruntled customer threads as "evidence" against Xenforo LOL
Those disgruntled threads Really picked up when IB tookover (before anyone was aware of xenforo). That should be put in as evidence, the timestamps of all those disgruntled threads won't lie.
Careful, they might print your post off as evidence and say Xenforo is to blameThose disgruntled threads Really picked up when IB tookover (before anyone was aware of xenforo). That should be put in as evidence, the timestamps of all those disgruntled threads won't lie.
I'm going to agree with John on this one, since I see us all getting sucked into that vicious cycle which usually ends up in a lot of bad taste for everyone.Seriously folks, I'm as anti-IB as anyone, but all this talk does no one any good. Our opinions matter not. The only opinion that matters is the judge's and XF has good lawyers to handle all of this. I think everyone would be well advised to back off...all you are doing is adding fuel to the fire.
Well I hate to say it and I probably said it once or twice before. It took XF to get vBS to get their act together.XenForo is costing VBSI a lot of money, stated in their FAC.
But that is not what the case is about. Those disgruntled threads Really picked up when IB tookover (before anyone was aware of xenforo). That should be put in as evidence, the timestamps of all those disgruntled threads won't lie.
Nicely cropped images submitted from twitter, so no evidance as to when they were screen printed/printed out I see.
Also, nice to see that the email forwarded on from Joe to Michael Anders wasn't printed by Joe from his sent items and isn't a full and complete email as that email doesn't contain any header information forwarding it onto Joe so where's the top of the email gone (or how did he gain access to it?)?![]()
Which email?
New document of PACER/ CM/ECF: http://cl.ly/173V2C0w0I3V3J2M461P
Having just read the new document, I just find it laughable. I was never aware that releasing modifications for vBulletin gave them any rights over said work, or that they would be allowed to use it in a lawsuit regarding trademark/IP when they do not own the IP to released modifications.
If they had a better product, people would not move away. Because humans are lazy. Own fault.
Microsoft didn't sue Apple either after they launched OSX or went to Intel.
What we see here is simple competition, and a superior product.
I moved away from vBulletin because I was disappointed with the 4.0 product I had purchased a license for in the pre-sale (circa. Oct/Nov 2009).
I move the Invision Power Services IP.Board. This was before I'd even learned about XF and at the same time I was moving away (April 2010) lots of other people were too (there is printable evidence in the IPS forums to indicate this as well).
So ... I'd be quite happy to testify on behalf of XF to demonstrate that it wasn't XF that turned me away from the vBulletin software platform, rather it was the actions (or inaction) of VBSI and their poorly constructed, implemented, and bug-filled product which was vB 4.0 (and subsequent poor quality updates).
Cheers,
Shaun![]()
