It might be that wordpress - and the particular SEO and connections it makes - has a higher hit rate from Bing/Yahoo? Just throwing that out there for thought...
Forums are easily recognizable by search spiders and THEY decide how much weight to apply to various media. I have been publishing a lot of new articles on that WP blog in the last week - and that's when my Bing/Yahoo traffic shot up.
But I still attribute some to my signing up there and doing some ads.
Here is the big question, Matt (and others). Is it that small because you are not doing all the right things? It can only go up from here!
Let's get back to what this conversation should be about. In the US (you can check elsewhere), Yahoo and Bing make up about 28% of all search traffic. That's nothing to sneeze at. Ignoring it would seem foolish.
As an experiment, I am going to sign up my big site with Bing and place a hundred dollars in advertising. Then I will follow things for a month or two and see if it increases. My big site is mostly XF.
