Best Hosting provider for XenForo?

Which hosting/server companies are the best, or most reputable, for hosting XenForo?

Also, which hosting companies offer the best daily or weekly back up service in addition to regular hosting?

Any XenForo hosting specialist companies providing a solid all in 1 service?

Thanks.

What's your location? That will probably determine which providers you want to look at.

For a UK web-hosting company, I can recommend Nimbus Hosting. http://www.nimbushosting.co.uk/ I've just moved to them after reading many recommendations in other threads.

They offer VPS and dedicated packages and specialise in Xenforo hosting. They offer a free migration service too (which is very good, I made life easy for myself and took them up on this). They offer backups at an additional cost.

Are you looking for a managed hosting solution?

xfhost.net caters to xenforo users in particular, where they can set up a lot of things for you, and you can just manage your forum.

Just depends on what you're looking for.

So the first question is, how big is your forum?

If your only small, then go with your favorite provider, no need to spend bucks on something you don't need, most shared packages from a reliable host are fine.

Just to note, do not ever, ever, ever rely on your host's backups. Make your own. You should ideally have at least a few copies out there in case things go wrong.
Can't stress this enough. I back up to my local dedicated server (each forum that is running on it), then back them up to the other dedicated servers, then back them up the the VPS I have set up on another dedicated server, then back them up to a VPS in Dallas and finally back them up to my Mac at the house and the 2 dedicated servers I have set up here. Think I got enough backups scattered. Thank you rsync! :)

Unless you like playing and learning. That's why I got my own dedi's shortly after getting a VPS. Do I need them - no. Just wanted them and the additional "horse-power" they have so that I can do whatever I wanted with them. I can honestly say I've progressed WAY beyond where I was at just a few short months ago - so much so I set my own server up with virtualization that now allows me to configure my own VPS's.

I am UK-based and my experience with Nimbus has not been good. I am looking for a solid alternative...

Do xfhost have good reviews and testimonials? Where?

I'd always recommend Linode, you can choose from 6 data centers (Tokyo, London, Newark, Atlanta, Dallas and Fremont) and they do provide a backup solution (starting from an extra $5.00 a month).

The only thing with Linode is that they're unmanaged, don't let that put you off as they have great community support and the staff do help with basic setup via support tickets – however, great if you're looking for something a little more powerful than a shared host and more flexibility.

Thanks but as a novice who just wants to concentrate on growing my forum I need a straight forward, reputable xF host with a good repute and back up arrangement...

I have been hosting with xFHost since pretty much day 1. I can stand behind in my comments about saying they are a great host and considering @Mike Edge is a reputable member of the community here he stands behind his service. It is one of the best if not the best host I have ever used.
