XF 2.1 Automatic 301 redirect after editing title and URL?

If I edit the title of a post via "Edit Thread", then the URL of this thread is changing immediately. That is great for all SEO aspects.

But how can I automatically redirect via 301 Redirection from "old URL" to the "new URL"?

Are there any plugins for solving this problem?

from my understanding, redirection happens already automatically. you are not going to have any dead links after changing title of a thread.

what i am not sure of is whether the redirection is done using 301 directive. would need to find a way to check it i guess!

update... checked using an online tool and xenforo seems to be using 301 permanent redirect!

It doesn't necessarily redirect, it's using the thread id as the anchor, so https://xenforo.com/community/threads/idontunderstandthisstuff.175187/ Will bring up this thread.

well it does have to redirect from old url. it use thread id to locate the actual destination. curl command shows HTTP/2 301 so google etc spiders should see it as a permanent redirect!
