Attachment Integrity - Scans XenForo attachment storage for missing files and integrity issues.

Attachment Integrity is a lightweight ACP tool for checking the health of XenForo attachment storage.

The add-on scans "xf_attachment_data" against the files physically stored in "internal_data/attachments" and reports common problems such as:

  • Missing attachment files
  • Unreadable files
  • File size mismatches
  • Unused attachment data

The tool is intentionally read-only and does not modify, repair or delete attachments automatically. The goal is to help admins safely...

Attachment Integrity 2.5.0 has now been released

This update focuses heavily on stability, structure and long-term maintainability rather than just adding more UI.

Over the last few versions I’ve spent a lot of time refining the ACP experience to make it feel more native to XenForo, especially on mobile and tablet views, while also preparing the add-on properly for larger communities.

What’s new in 2.5.0:

  • Compact control-centre style ACP layout
  • Reduced navigation clutter
  • Improved mobile/tablet responsiveness
  • Reusable...

Interesting!

Few questions:
  • Is there an option to run this in the background/low priority? My forum has a few million attachments so such a job would take a long time
  • Does it work with external files? (We are using Cloudflare R2 for attachments)

Cheers mate, appreciate the questions.

Yeah it does now. One of the main things I wanted to sort properly was making sure it could handle genuinely large forums without smashing the server. The scans can run in the background in batches and resume where they left off, so it’s a lot safer for forums with massive attachment libraries.

I also added support for external storage setups like Cloudflare R2/S3 because loads of bigger forums are using them now. It uses XenForo’s filesystem handling rather than assuming everything is stored locally.

Still tweaking and optimising bits as I go, but it’s in a much better place now.

Is there any bulk option to delete duplicate attachments?
Yeah, but I wanted to be really careful with how it worked.

It can now detect duplicates, queue them up and run safety checks before anything gets touched. I didn’t want a situation where an addon just mass deletes files and causes attachment issues all over the place.

So the cleanup side is designed to only remove duplicate data rows that aren’t actively referenced anymore. Anything that looks questionable gets left for manual review instead.

free space is looking at the wrong place.

duplicate groups -- unsure how that knows anything yet when the scan failed.
