• Rewrite jQuery in Javascript pending XF2.3
• Account for article message types when calculating maximum length
  • Additionally check for [OzzModz] Article Maximum Character/Image/Media Settings article length
• Add "Quick thread create" option to list of possible counter locations

No i got it to work, thanks. It was a temporary moment of forgetting. I like the "Count Down" style anyway, it lets users know how much they can type.

I appreciate it though.

Just noticed I had 1.2.0 installed, this could be reason character counter not working on my end, glad you fix it friend.

It works with this plugin but it just doesn't work in one place

Unfortunately, the plugin is not working. Open a new topic and the character count is visible in the quick reply field, but I cannot send a message. What is the reason? I have granted user permissions. Is there anything extra I need to do?

edit : there is an option for it to be placed on the lower left side, sorry I missed it.

Inspect your browser console (on firefox press F12 and click the "Console" tab) for errors. I don't believe there's any extra configuration necessary beyond permissions.

I think there's already a style property available for changing the placement of the counter

Unfortunately, the plugin does not work in version 2. Can you share a download link for this?

@apathy the addon considers profile posts limit the same as regular threads.
Which is not always the case they are 2 different settings.

I have:
Maximum message length 10000
Maximum profile message length 1000

But the addon shows 10k for everything.

Yes, I gave permission, the word counter appears in the quick reply area, but I cannot enter text in the quick reply. No error appears in the admin panel. What is the reason for this?
