Another bailout country in EU

No worries. I expect the politicians to come up with another briilliant solution. Something along the lines of "If we all just work a few hours extra per week to help out the Portugese, I'm sure they will not drop themselves as easily during football, and when I say 'we', of course I mean everybody other than me and my colleagues".

Government. If you think its problems are bad, wait until you see its solutions.

No good looking towards the United Kingdom ( UK ) for help , they cant do anything right here with these muppets in power...

By the way I say I am from England , not the UK no such place or no such thing as a United Kingdom..

A change in law this week seen English citizens suffer another increase in prescription charges , its now £7.40 per item so if you have 2 or 3 things on there your up **** creek without a paddle... But if you live in Scotland , Northern Ireland or Wales every thing is FREE GRATIS...

So where is the UNITED bit coming from....

" Once we were an Empire , ruled by an Emperor."
" Then we were a Kingdom , ruled by a King "
" Now we are just a Country , ruled by a bunch of C***s "

Regards...

Sorry Brogan , I dont debate politics unless its a forum designed for it and this isnt....

But do you really think any party we have here in England is any better than the other , they all screw the working classes without fail

Regards..

Every time I hear bailout , I really hear undocumented adjustments and global centralized banking to the advent of losing points on principle with little to no gain and an overall loss for everyone.
Better the muppets we've got now than the completely incompetent muppets we had previously.
I can name oh so many American counter parts that I will refrain from making reference to in such an uncanny carbon copy of a resemblance and I shudder at the thought of an amero and will ABSOLUTELY not go for it as it is the biggest aide in economic downfall.

All can be safely united only if they individually remain sovereign with principles of state left in tact. If Europe is to unite under monetary values alone all that effects or is affected by money (cost of living, infrastructure blah blah everything basically) must be apportioned correctly or the math will not work. Seeing that Europe has been around for a lil while now, just dropping that system into effect was reckless in my opinion and I will be sure to write my representatives here to let them know I would not like a common currency.

I would be safe to assume most of citizens in EU are not liking this central banking system that much?

hmmm politics and government...

I never debate about issues related to any of the above because almost 95% percent of the people debating have no idea what they are talking about and only repeat what they have read, heard or were told by others. Such easily manipulated people.

If you have a lot of things you need regularly on prescription then you may want to a PPC (£104 for one year) if you don't have one already. Certainly would save a lot of money if you get a lot on prescription.

(I hasten to add that I don't think it's fair that prescriptions are free for some and not for others, would surely be fairer to make it one price with each devolved government and Westminster contributing proportionally into a universal pot, therefore hopefully a lower cost per prescription could be achieved which would hopefully be fairer than the current system.)

There should be no cost at all for anyone in England , Scotland , Wales & Ireland that was the whole reason for N.I.S contributions ( National Insurence Contributions ) the more you earn , the more you pay..

I dont need any prescriptions on any sort of basis , I have been blessed with perfect health 99% of my life... It is just one point that I highlighted as regards we are not a United Kingdom , never have been , never will be....

And after all the years you pay NIS, even if you take nothing out, depending on where you live, if you get cancer you will be denied the most effective treatments because it is not "cost effective".

I'm 22 and have private health insurance for that very reason because there is a history of rare cancers in one side of my family, fortunately being male I am less likely to get it, but I cant afford to take the risk. Unforutnately my great gran was such a victim of this sytem and by the time she had won the right to get the treatment she had needed the cancer had spread. An independent doctor from the NHS even said that after switching to the alternative but none-nhs funded treatment there was OBVIOUS improvement in her condition, and that give this treatment from the get go, he thinks the outcome would have been different.

The NHS is in shambles, with doctors and nurses spending more time on paperwork than looking after patients. I needed a couble of stictches a few weeks back, the stitches took 3 mins to put in, the paperwork the nurse had to fill out was 15 minutes.

Staying in the EU is equally as stupid. Our own country is up sh*t creek, and we have to pay billions every year towards the EU when we get next to no benefits from it.

Whilst I feel this is somewhat off topic I would agree the NHS is far from perfect, but it massively varies based on the problem you have and even where you live in some cases.

On the negative my granddad was wrongly diagnosed as having 'wind' when he had stomach cancer. I doubt it could have been cured if the GP diagnosed correctly to start with but it is still very poor and upsetting. In fairness to most GPs, the others at the doctors surgery were fine, it was just this one which was regarded as very poor almost universally.

On the other hand I have seen many specialists about a spinal issue when I was a child and into my early teens which without the NHS would have been impossible because of the costs.

So yeah I definitely do think the NHS needs to be improved, unfortunately it is still trying to do more than it can afford. It looks like either more revenue has to be found or some of the less key services will have to be reduced. Personally I would be very upset of the NHS was to cease because despite all its flaws it is fixable and it has a pretty decent record against comparable services.

Edit: One of my main issues with the NHS is that the complaints procedure is ridiculously hard to get through. And as mentioned about the paper work is a waste of time and money, they need to get a decent consultancy in to look at their processes and to streamline them.

Continuing the off topic theme....the problem with the NHS now is there are less people paying in to it and more people using it.
People are living longer, retiring earlier and generally having less children.
The longer you live, the more ailments associated with old age you will suffer, which is an increasing burden on the NHS.
Unless taxpayers are prepared to pay a lot more into the system, things are only going to get worse.

Meanwhile, back on topic, there are a couple of interesting blogs here:

Ignore the usual rabid comments from most of the contributors.

If you want an appointment at my local GP, either be prepared to wait a week (yes a WEEK) on the waiting list or try ringing up at 8:30 when the lines open and hope you get lucky with a slot, unless you have an emergency like I did with my arm needing stitches.

The practice itself is top notch, but put simply, it serves too many people in a town that is having major developments built with no new surgery to cope because building companies can swindle the system by sub-contracting some of the land and avoid having to build a new surgery.

Yep, it's very frustrating how a lot of these major land developers agree to build a clinic, a park and some other community stuff in order to get planning permission then they somehow get away with not doing it once they've finished the building of the profitable houses / flats.

No countries seem to like England apart from countries that we give money to, why should we give money to other countries when they don't like us only our money... I know for one thing I wont give money to other countries, like for example, Portugal, Spain, France...

:-) I have to here....

Were you and the countries discussing this over tea or something.
:ROFLMAO:
Sorry.

Just try and remember if one person had all the money it would be worth nothing. I understand your sentiment but I am from the US where the rest of the world thinks is the home of the ignorant and lazy yet we help countries in need while we have our own poor and starving people here. It is better to offer a feasable solution than to point fingers as that might offend a citizen of one of those countries and start tensions amongst other members here based on their geo-location rather than the quality of their thoughts.

You should see the medical costs in the US. If you have money, it's kewl. If you have no money and no health coverage, you're screwed.
I've been sick with pneumonia for almost 2 weeks now. Can't go to the doctor, can't get any medicine. The doctor visit is $125, and I cringe to think what the prescriptions would cost me, with no healthcare coverage.

Same here. Everyone hates the US, but they sure like our money.
