Not a bug alerts not coming up sometimes

for some reason the alerts don't show up, I either have to go refresh the page or go to another link on the forum.
will this be fixed in the future?

Alerts will only show up if an AJAX action happens.

Alerts doesn't update automatically unless you're using the text editor. There is an addon though that will poll the sever to fetch alerts:
