Our forum (6.5mil posts/7k active members) has one adsense banner space that we sell only to advertisers related to our niche.
We're in the process of switching to XenForo, and I know that impressions will go down since the new site will require fewer clicks and reloads. We're thinking of possibly adding a second ad space for guests, to compensate for the difference. We'd like to keep advertising unobtrusive. We're hoping to use AD Monetize.
Our rates are $.30 per 1000 impressions monthly and $.40 per 1000 impressions weekly.
Is AdSense the best thing to use for this, or are there any other options we should consider? Should we raise our rates, since banners will stay visible longer if members aren't clicking away as much? Any advice would be welcome. We do sell member upgrades and did a fundraising campaign for the switch to xenforo, but most of our revenue comes from the banner ad.
