I created a new ad position, and pasted the macro the template.
For some reason the ad is not rendered when the page is opened in overlay.
Am I doing something wrong?

Package setting "Ad display limit" value must be based on the number of ads you want to have in the carousel at the same time.
Are there more than 5 ads? Since you have set "Ads to show" and "Ads to scroll" to 5, it won't work unless there are more than 5. With those settings, it will display all 5 ads at the same time and scroll all of them.

Set them to 1 if you want to see one at a time in the carousel.

Yes, you can as long as it is the same ad type as your package.

No, but banner ads have the option to use a "Custom HTML" code instead of uploading a banner.

Hi @Siropu , is it possible to set an ad to display once per session?

Only setting I know of is "Display every x minutes" but it would be nice if you can set it to show only once.
