Nice update! Brave support.
Can you explain in more detail what
  • NEW: Brave browser option (enable network detection against Brave Browser only)
Is exactly?
Does this mean that other ads on other browsers are not detected?
More details if you have time.
Appreciated.

From my testing, Fast Detection works on Brave, but not on all page refreshes. Sometimes it skips for unknown reasons. But the network loading seems to catch it consistently. So, for those people that don't want to run network loading against all client browsers due to the VPN issues, can choose this option to target network loading only when the client browser is Brave.

With that said, running with only "fast detection" selected is still the safest option.
TY, to sum up the Brave browser is a bi##h huh?

I wouldn’t say that but I had an issue where they blocked my site due to detecting an adblock detector. The site was still visible on Brave but in a very broken state as no js worked.

TY I'm guessing 2.6.1 has something unknown? (available for download))
I noticed issues with the Brave implementation so I'm just working on a v2.6.1 update. The one you see isn't actually ready for release, but will be shortly.

The current v2.6.0 has some non-critical issues. The next update addresses those as well as bringing better Safari support.

Brave is actually quite nice and easy thus far - Safari is the biggest issue because it has a tendency to want to cache pages between requests even when entire scripts change, and the ID's of the scripts change. Quite bizarre, but I suspect Apple is going for a good user experience at the expense of a good developers experience. The next release attempts to deal with Apple's awkwardness that with an option to "Send Safari browser anti-cache headers", but only for pages where the AdBlock is being loaded.

Wutime updated AdBlock Detector Pro with a new update entry:

v2.6.1

  • FIX: Fixed "cache"; cached elements were always using static variables since v2.5.x
  • Update: Brave + Safari detection methods to share detection
  • OPTION: New option to "Send Safari browser anti-cache headers"
  • NEW: generateScriptTag() function to randomly assign ID for better cache busting
  • ADD: Badcow/LoremIpsum composer package for randomization
  • NEW: Adjusted the logic to ensure the runMethod3IfNeeded() function completes its asynchronous operations before proceeding...

Does this work on @Bob 's Review Management System?
I see on the screenshots that its possible to exclude pages. But I need the opposite:
Is it possible to only activate this on certain pages? i.e. only on RMS pages. Or even certain RMS categories.

It works with / on @Bob 's classifieds so I would venture that is works on the RMS.
As for #2, I may be wrong but you would need to exclude all pages except for RMS.

I hear what you're saying. At the moment there is no ability to force it upon pages, but I'm in the midst of adding a detection feature so I'll review your request.

Yeah, I think it's included on all pages by default, with permissions allowing/excluding per usergroup, as well as by node permissions.

@Wutime If the above is correct, then please consider to make a whitelist so that we can activate it only on some pages.
Does Bob's RMS create nodes under a normal node hierarchy? If so, then yes, you can use the existing node permissions system.

I did notice that the current permission is "general" instead of "forum", so it won't allow Node Permissions, but I can resolve that in the next update.

I don't have RMS to test with, but should be fine.

Essentially you will "Allow AdBlocking Software" to most usergroups in most nodes, and then it will only render in the RMS area.

Or, I could just provide a textbox to enter in a regex for Url's to target, ignoring rendering anywhere not included in the "force list". This is probably more what you're after?

@Bob 's RMS (and other addons by Bob) have categories like XFRM has.

Optimally I would only like to have ad blocker popups on RMS Items in certain RMS categories.

Currently ad blockers prevent tracking of affiliate links. And only certain RMS categories have affiliate links.

Might be difficult unless you can see a pattern in the Url structure for those pages/categories?
