A Quick Look: XPress

Got an update here with respect to themes working with the product. Any theme at all should work, the default or a third-party theme. Third-party of course may have some minor issues depending on methods they use, but all in all should be smooth.

Third party add-ons will work as well under the same limitation, how well would be the question, but indeed working with all the top add-ons.

Newspaper by tagDiv is one of most uses WordPress theme. Xpress looking cool, when I can buy? Any chance to participate as a Beta tester?
Thanks

That looks great!

Have you tested Wordress database plugins? For example, Toolset (Types) or Pods? Are these well integrated (Style)?

I would also be interested in whether you can assign Wordpress roles to specific Xenforo (secondary) groups?

That would be cool too, assigned wp roles to match xf roles. Especially if going to be using wordpress plugins like woocommerce

By the way all, got a demo here: http://demo.themehouse.com/xpress/wp/

No I have not, can you link to the ones? Ill see if we can test them out.

Yep, we have an issue for that here: https://github.com/Audentio/xpress-issues/issues/107

thanks for the demo Mike. It looks fantastic! When does this become available to purchase?
Waiting for a final final package from devs, just a few minor improvements or last minute changes. We had about 4-5 beta members test it and come back with little to no bugs, so its just us being perfectly content. Thursday or Friday, the holiday in America slightly complicates but should be fine.

On this link, when scrolling down, the sidebar gets stuck partially scrolled down, so you have to scroll all the way to the bottom of the page to view all of the meta box

This is a bug through UI.X actually. We have scroll solution added in the next UI.X update (https://github.com/Audentio/xf2theme-issues/issues/672)

That said, the only proper way to fix this is by not using XenForo third-party sticky solution called sticky kit. But I think add-ons may be using it, its all just meh, its the reason I don't like when software make opinionated front-end decisions, its a limiting factor overall. So may be stuck with this.

One solution also is to just turn off sticky sidebar, its a setting in UI.X.

Fair play, I didn't play with the demo for long, but it stuck out pretty quickly as a UI / UX issues. Perhaps a fix could be pull requested into Sticky Kit so everyone can benefit?

I don't think the developers of sticky kit are active. Last developer commit was over a year ago https://github.com/leafo/sticky-kit

For the next update we have a fix where you get a scrollbar. Google.does this pattern anyway, check it on way Gmail for example. Their sticky sidebars get scroll bars.

Love the demo. With regard to the comments on the Wordpress posts, is it possible to hide the first comment, as it's redundant in that situation as it's a link to the actual article?

Hello again, any update for when this will be avail for purchase?
We added some last minute touches. Including proper Divi support as we have a lot of clients using it. That was the last big item.

Ill post the official post here.
  1. Those who have any ThemeHouse subscription of any kind (even if its expired) but you have paid at least 3 months total will get the update early.
  2. Those who have any ThemeHouse subscription or have purchased a TH Article/Blog system will get 50% off for the first month only. And email will go out to all of those we have on record, but if you don't get one just message me within the first two months of release.
  3. The regular annual license will be $79.95, but will be introing for the first few weeks at $69.95
  4. The renewal annual license will be $39.95.
  5. Installation will be $45 for the WordPress and XenForo side
  6. XPress will not be a part of UI.X Pro, any of the current XenForo ThemeHouse subscriptions (though you will get a discount), and it will be the same license as any other premium product that we have
  7. The release date will for subscribers will be Tuesday the 10th of July
If you have any questions all ears.

Special thanks for our brilliant beta testers and all those who messaged us with ideas. Oddly enough we hit I think every last one of them. Im not really sure what else we can build into this product, and thats so very satisfying. Im sure you all will think of something and as always, we're here.

Will it be possible to create an article form an existing thread ? In other words, when we create an article at wp, can we link it to an existing thread.

Actually I am asking a feature that the following addon adds to resource.

https://xenforo.com/community/resources/convert-threads-to-resources.6503/

In my hobby forum sometimes normal users can share a thread which is actually an article and before I notice, it can have many reply and comments.

So a simple way to return it as article will be very usefull.

Yes we have article to thread, and thread to article. Resource to article is not a thing we'll ever build I don't think, to be clear. Just doesnt seem like a common/useful feature.

Thread to article is the one I was looking for. Thanks for the quick reply.

Any possible way to make a mega menu like function? The reason I'm asking is in case there needs to be multiple categories in menu. I'm just curious on this
