[8wayRun.Com] XenPorta (Portal)

Just finished an import, and found out that I'd need that /forum/ directory for vB4 redirect.
How'd I come about changing the /forum/ bit to /community/ like here?

If you want to move your installation to a different directory, it's in the FAQ: http://xenforo.com/community/threads/frequently-asked-questions.5183/#post-180455

How can I move my installation to a different directory?
Update the Board URL in the ACP -> Options -> Basic Board Information and move the files to the new directory. You may need to restart the server for the change to take effect.

It really is that simple, there is nothing more to do.

No, Brogan, I think you've got this thread confused with a support thread. I'm not moving my install... Wouldn't need support for that kind of level of configuration setting ;)

My XF install is in the root directory, that is, site.com/.
I've used Jaxel's XenPorta (this thread) addon to create a portal, and used the remapping option to make / portal, and /forum/ my forums section.
Unfortunately, /forum was a legacy path used by vB4 redirect (since old forum prior to import to XF was in /forum), so I need to map the forums section to a different location. Specifically, /community/ like here.
There is no visible option to do this in the addon, so I am asking the author how I'd come about doing that with minimal edits so it won't be a problem with future updates.

To the best of my knowledge XF has a directory named /community in which the site software was installed. That is how this site is set up. I originally had my site set up the same way.

If you wish to have the same set up as here, I would suggest creating a /community directory and moving your site into that directory.

I know this is a long thread but if you plan on using this module, you really need to read it :)

Go to ACP > Options > XenPorta and check the box Set As Index Controller.
Then what? Ive been reading around the thread and from my understnading I have to move directories around? I want my forums to stay at domain.com/forum and for the portal to be at domain.com and The Set As Index Controller did not help :(

The portal has to be installed wherever the forum is installed, as per the installation instructions.
upload the entire contents of the attached zip to your XenForo root.

I had to move my forum out of the forum folder, into the site root. When all is done, and this add-on enabled, the forum will be in a /forum folder.

It is but if you look at the creator of the mod's website you can see it at 8wayrun.com which is the portal and the creator's forums is at 8wayrun.com/forum and this is what I'm trying to accomplish to no avail :(

And mine is the same way.
Did you move your forum files out of the forum folder? That's what you have to do.
Alright if i place the files and the portal all at domain.com instead of /forum and check the "set as index controller" It will work like the 8wayrun website?

Yep, just like mine did. You will have the portal as your sitedomain.com and the forums will be at sitedomain.com/folder.

It took me awhile to wrap my brain around it also. There are many posts from me a few pages back.

Indeed :)...Been reading the thread and praying I dont break any thing when I attempt this. Im going to send everything from the /forum folder to the root of the domain. Wish me luck!
