[8wayRun.Com] XenPorta (Module Add-Ons)

The new version has thread selection capabilities but I didn't update package yet. Also thumbnails are linked back to originating thread, first post and it is not a problem to link them back to originating post.

I would like to identify desired thumbnails via a thread moderation to designate them for display

To do so I have to alter database. IMHO it is beyond Module Add-On, maybe as a XF Add-on.

Attached file below is Update Package.

excellent work! I would also like for the image title entry to be configurable from administer modules.."Click to view this highlighted topic" as an example.

configure addon title from administer modules also????

how would you set this up to create a page node?

If it hasnt been done already it would be a good idea to list all the thirdy-party modules somewhere so they are easy to find, rather than having to trawl through all the posts

EWRporta_Block_ThreadRandomImage module add-on has been updated for XenPorta v1.4.4

Image ALT entry can be change from administer modules but for all images.

.. configure addon title from administer modules also????
You can do that either :)

I have been thinking the same thing.. I would love to add more modules but it's such a pain to go through 26 posts just to see if there is any i'd be interested in.

Jaxel -- i'm about to make a site just for your mods / documentation. :ROFLMAO: It would definitely get traffic.

Thank you!

like to discuss this further, specifically how to utilize moderation to SELECT featured images instead of random display... ~peace

Is there any way to allow for HTML (or even editor) in the options? I've looked thru this thread but can't say i literally read all posts, but i would love to be able to use HTML or and editor.

I'm not talking about a module itself, but a field you can add to your module, even if it just supports BB-Code like the editor is fine by me because currently i cannot format text input into a textarea.

I have mentioned several time in this thread that the add-on is for attachment only. No tag is supported. I hope I'm wrong but I'm doubt that someone going to make such an add-on, especially the module add-on. Time will tell us.

Don't take this wrong but I don't understand that is so difficult to manually attach images and that someone need automated attachment (server side) using [IMG] tag at least to create thumbnails and make references for an images. If you wish to have a good web site there is nothing wrong to keep images on own server as attachment.

That would be an awesome idea that iw what I'm thinking. Even if it doesn't support HTML just the normal editor that would be epic. For now I'm using the information thingy so that I can have something in a little box in the header

Many people on my good websites prefer to use 3rd party services for hosting images. If I want to summarize the activity of a forum category dedicated to sharing photos, more than just attachments would need to be represented. No worries, I was just curious what your add-on did. The title makes one think that it could do more than attachments.

I was working on a new module using a textarea option. Is the 255 character limit something related to XF, a db limitation, or a self-imposed limitation within XenPorta?

Good idea man, I think it might be XF or DB because when I'm using my BoardNotices it gives me a limit of 255 which is a pain when using HTML

I have got a question... how can i use the AdSense Module ? Can somebody help me, pls ?

Edit: I do not need help anymore. :)

Has anyone figured out how to get Steam Stats working in a module?

Anybody happen to know where the 255 limitation is coming into play? I was creating a new module for an organization where it would be much easier for me to explain to them how to view the page, click on the Administrate option, and then change the value of the module in the module options text rather than trying to explain to them the need to log into the ACP and then seek out & modify a template or phrase. :coffee:
