[8wayRun.Com] XenMedio (Media)

I am having some issues with Internet Explorer 64bit not playing videos or mp3? Anyone else experience this? Also IE is putting a big blue box around video's. Doesn't conform to the size of the video itself. Anyway to fix this?

You can now use XenMedio as a podcasting platform! Of course, it only works with locally hosted media.

Yes, indeed. Not everything that Apples does is, or turns out to be magic. I never touched/used anything other then iTunes (I do own an -otherwise fantastic- iPhone 3GS), but I always felt iTunes is not quite there. Amazing... cause millions of people use it. And off-topic, but the same I feel (here) about something like Skype, which is even used by more people (I assume). Really, is it because this software is available for free that they have to leave so much behind when it comes to the UI/UX (especially on Skype)?

I am interested to hear why you find iTunes awful.
 
Is there a permissions bug here? I'm trying to disallow guests from viewing videos, but allow them to browse the library..

Even when I have "Can View Media Details" set to Never, they can view the video. Same occurs when testing "Can Browse Library" and setting it to Never, guests can still browse the library.. :confused:

  • Fixed a security issue relating to permissions.
  • The built in search system has been eliminated; XenMedio now integrates directly into XenForo's search.
    • You may delete the EWRmedio_Search table from your database.
    • You must rebuild your search index before media files will appear in it.
  • Podcast support has been added for local media at "media/category/catName.id/podcast".
 
So are you going to send those files to the proper email? I mean you have the option to ignore people that's a given but... I am a CUSTOMER, how long do I have to wait for your holiness to respond. If you are not going to comply with what I think is normal business practice please let me know so I can continue on and take the next step.
 
I have to say that I downloaded XenMedio today, liked it and paid the $20 for the premium key and almost before Paypal had sent me an email confirming my payment being processed, Jaxel had emailed me the premium file.

He's a great coder and super quick! Thanks for working on such great mods with this community!

Wanted to make that update - Uploaded the files, deleted search table from db run the upgrade and last try to reindex search.. This give me an error and stops.

I'm not sure your error is related to XenMedio... however, just to be sure, you should head into PhpMyAdmin and check the following three tables: EWRmedio_media, xf_post and xf_thread. Sort the tables by "user_id" and see if you can find any rows without a user_id value (null, blank). Fix as needed.

Hi Jaxel,

Do we just need the premium model to use podcasts? If not can you please advise what is required. I have no idea about podcasts but I know a lot of MMA guys do podcasts so I want to start using them. Also a quick guide on how to add them would be helpful, thanks :)
 
Technically, anyone can use the podcast feed... its the same exact thing as the rss feed, but it will only query for "local" media. So if you don't have the premium model, your podcasts will be empty since you wont have any hosted media.

Example: RSS: http://www.8wayrun.com/media/category/intros-cutscenes.10/rss
Example: Podcast http://www.8wayrun.com/media/category/intros-cutscenes.10/podcast (notice how it's empty?)

How to use the podcast feed? Just add a local media to a category; it will automatically get added to the podcast feed. The best way to do this would be to create a category just for your local podcast media, then add them using the local code "video:filename.mp4" or "audio:filename.mp3" are good examples.
