[8wayRun.Com] XenCarta (Lite Wiki)

I apologize if the answer to this question was in the first few pages, I did look through the thread before posting (really! =) but...

Does XenCarta allow for some pages to be usergroup restricted? I understand the lite nature of the wiki, it makes perfect sense considering the application (a forum), but the use I have in mind would be helped greatly if certain sections of a wiki could be made private.

Thanks =) And Jaxel, kudos on an obviously outstanding add-on, I have not installed it yet but I certainly will, regardless if this feature is included or not.

Presently wiki restriction is all or none. It was previously requested as a future change but I don't recall the reply.

Hello, it seems that the way i changed it before does not work now, but how do i change it from saying wiki in the navbar to something else? I remembered doing it in one of the templates before but i cant seem to find it again or it has been changed since i used it last, thanks for the help and awesome mod.

So if Xenforo allowed other content types (other than posts) in "What's New ?" ... XenCarta is posed to take advantage of that ?
Right now XenCarta's content type is automatically filtered by XenForo into the appropriate sections: recent activity, feeds, searching, etc (as is XenMedio's content type)... The only reason why it doesn't appear in What's New is that no content types besides threads appear in What's New, not even any of the other content types that come with XenForo.

The moment XenForo changes this, XenCarta's content type will automatically get integrated.

Search too eh ? Nice !

From the forums tab, I searched for olcadan.
http://8wayrun.com/search/1178494/?q=olcadan&o=date
It seems the wiki index got a hit on the first page. the wiki item made it on the second page.
a title search for olcadan:
http://8wayrun.com/search/1178495/?q=olcadan&o=date&c[title_only]=1
did much better, as expected.

Anyone has any cool template they like to share?
I'm looking for some simple university templates where there is a block on the right side showing basic stats for the university.

For example http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MIT
I created a right hand side block.

Created template called movieside
HTML:
<div class="wikimessageUserBlock">
<div class="wikiavatarHolder">
<a href="http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/{{{amazon}}}/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=unofficialste-21&linkCode=as2&camp=1634&creative=19450" target="_blank"><img class="wikiimage" src="{{{url}}}" alt="{{{alt}}}" title="{{{title}}}" /></a><br />Title : {{{title}}}<br />Year: {{{year}}}<br />
<a href="http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/{{{amazon}}}/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=unofficialste-21&linkCode=as2&camp=1634&creative=19450">Buy from Amazon</a><br />
IMDB : <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/{{{imdb}}}/">Imdb</a>
</div>
</div>

Then added this to the article/wiki entry:

Code:
[template=movieside] url = wiki/_thumbs/sidemovie_urban_justice.jpg | alt=Urban Justice | title=Urban Justice | year=2007 | amazon=B000UMVTYO | imdb=tt0910934[/template]

Turned out like this: http://www.steven-seagal.net/xen/index.php?wiki/urban-justice/

That's pretty cool :-)

It'd be great if we could try and collect together all of the different templates people have made and put them all in one thread (much like the separate module thread for xenporta).

Hi Jaxel

Is it possible to create reusable contents or tables that can be included into pages I want?

For example if I have pages for each Clan A members, will I be able to create an information box about Clan A with images and include that into each clan member's page?

Is there any way to get a sidebar widget with the recent activity from the wiki? I think that'd motivate people to work on it more.

Please forgive me if I've posted a question that's been addressed. I tried to search and didn't get a result.

I upgraded to the newest Wiki version and have been setting up my pages. I just noted that in the Wiki Index sidebar box, the page titles are bleeding out over the edge - they were simply overlapping before I updated.

I checked it with all my skins including the default and it's doing the same thing. I'm sure it's a setting or tweak that I'm just too code silly to find.

Please help, screen shot attached.
