XF 2.0 2.0 testing

I've been reading a lot about 2.0 installation and details, what's the best way to run it and get everything set up and tested before updating the live forum?...I'd like to have a clone set up with the current version and database and accessible online for another to check it out...

I followed this instruction and get the following error:

I placed a folder called 'test' in public_html folder and copied the live site to that test folder so the test site should come up as (domain url) /test/index.php or /test/admin.php...?
