Not a good look. It's obvious the team is trying to get all the sheeple to line up for the cloud hosting cool aid. Why pay one time for something when you can pay for it three times as much and have extremely strict and limited control over your platform's environment.

I realized it's a tough world out there, and ipbbgun is swinging with its Alice in wonderland delusions of cloud pricing, but come one. Of the things that charmed me most about xenforo was the completely humble 130 limited time deal. Even the 140 dollar pricing was charming.

You should have waited for your new editor , in upcoming 2.4, to slam this new offcloud price and make it sound better.

If you have any idea of how things work, you'll know that the majority is leaning towards cloud compared to self hosted. Personally, I don't understand it either, I'm a self host fan, but the trend is obviously clear and rising. If they wouldn't jump on the party, they'd lose significantly.

The funny thing is that only small companies or tech ignorant people could enjoy a cloud solution, even at a high price.

Big companies can afford to have their own server , own tech squad with custom plugins, and no nanny around.

Didn't talk specifically about xenforo. I do hate the cloud thing. I understand your team has to up their game if they are to prosper, and charity doesn't bring food on the table.

195$ for offcloud should have waited for 2.4 to have the editor justify it, and even though xenforo would be dumb to sway customers away and lose money, i can still hate cloud forums, especially since i run my own thing independently, which emboldens this sentiment.

I'm loving the xf cloud option.
I'll have plans to move my other two licences over to the cloud soon too.

Thanks to the staff here for encouraging me to move over. I won't have to go through the upgrade system myself again. I'll let them do it because they know what they're doing.
