10 cool websites no one really knows about

The only reason I like w3schools is because of their references: http://w3schools.com/cssref/default.asp & http://w3schools.com/tags/default.asp

While some might be frustrated by their content, I still find those lists very useful and something I use frequently and refer others to. Of the sites suggested in w3fools site, none provides a list that is that easy to navigate. The W3C wiki and sitepoint site could get there, but no cigar. But that might be because I am not looking for what they do, I usually know that, I just want to reference the correct syntax and spelling.

I will grant you that W3Schools is a bit easier to navigate, but a lot of their material (even the two references you cited) contain incorrect information. Frustrated is an understatement, a lot of their examples lead to horribly inefficient markup, or worse, insecure code. That's the problem with referring people to sites like that -- they don't know any better and assume W3Schools is an authoritative source that can be trusted. In reality, it's anything but.
 
I looked at the W3 one, and it was not really as good. In fact, the only W3 page I can stand is the validators, and even them throw me for a loop once in a while. I am more than open to use a different one, but I hate spending my time trying to find something, which is basically where W3schools win out for me. I will keep the disinformation in mind for the future, though.
