• Prevent fetching the similar thread list twice, and reduce default over-fetch to reduce performance impact.
  • Search thread titles rather than post's with titles, drastically reducing the amount of over-fetch required.
  • Works with Elastic Search Essentials to reduce the required overfetch to avoid un-viewable threads from reducing search results to nothing.
• Over-fetch amount is now configurable

I've taken over this add-on from @Daniel Hood, and it's now available on my site, Atelier Aphelion, for purchase and download. All future versions will be there, as well.

If you have a current license for this add-on, you can register it there (instructions are available here). You'll get a license from me (terms here), for the remaining duration of your original license, plus another 30 days - just a friendly gesture because of the inevitable delays caused by the hand-over.

My plan is to review and update this add-on to address any outstanding issues. Because I've taken over almost all of @Daniel Hood's add-ons, it might take me a while to get to this one.

What's New:

• Similar Threads Widget Improved
  • The similar threads widget now has the option to force at least one tag to match the thread being viewed (assuming that it has at least one tag).
• Tag Cloud
  • Display the tag cloud from the /search/tags page on the side bar.

This add-on now provides a widget to show the titles of media (linked to the media content). You can use the following options to change the content displayed:

• Limit
  • Limits the number of gallery items to show in the widget
• Order
  • Which sorting method it uses to select the items: Most Views, Average Rating, Likes, Most Recently Added
  • If you select "Average Rating" you can choose to display the average rating as stars underneath the title of the widget.
• Max Title Length
  • For cosemetic reasons you may want to trim the title of the media in the widget without actually making the entire gallery use shorter titles.

What's New:

• Similar Threads adjusted to respect if the option to disable search is selected.
• Code improvement to hide the widget completely if the searcher throws an exception.
