License Setup​

After installation, go to the add-on options and open the License options tab to enter your license key. If you have a branding-free license key, you may enter it there as well to remove branding.

License verification may use XenCustomize.com with local caching. Normal installation and uninstallation do not depend on our server being available. An expired license does not disable normal use of the add-on, but an active valid license is required for official support and access to new downloads or updates released after the license expires.

Screenshots & Step-by-Step Guide​

Step 1: Configure User Group Permissions​

First, go to your XenForo Admin CP → Groups & permissions → User group permissions and enable the Convert Thread to Direct Message permission for the user groups you want to allow to perform conversions.

Step 2: Find the Conversion Option​

Open the forum thread you want to convert. If your account has the required permission, you'll see the Convert to Direct Message option in the thread's action menu called "More options".

Step 3: Convert the Thread​

Click Convert to Direct Message to open the conversion overlay. Review the available options and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the conversion.




Conversion Progress Notice: Threads now display an in-progress notice during background conversion and temporarily hide the conversion action, helping prevent duplicate submissions while processing.

Step 4: Original Thread Is Locked​

After a successful conversion, the original thread is automatically locked to prevent further public replies. A notice is also posted with a link to the newly created Direct Message, allowing participants to continue the discussion privately.

Step 5: View the Converted Direct Message​

The new Direct Message contains the converted thread's posts in their original discussion order, preserving the original authors, attachments, reactions, and historical timestamps.

You can now continue the discussion privately without losing the original conversation context.
