XenCustomize This or That brings interactive choice games to your XenForo community. Members pick between two options, see how others voted, discuss their decisions, build streaks, and compete on leaderboards.

From quick Coffee or Tea? questions to imaginative Would you rather fly or become invisible? dilemmas, the experience is simple to join and fun to revisit. Beautiful choice cards, instant voting, community comments, and personalized progress help turn everyday visits into participation.

Key Features​

Two Question Formats​

This or That compares preferences and alternatives, such as Cats or Dogs? or Board Games or Video Games?

Would You Rather presents hypothetical situations and interesting dilemmas, such as Would you rather revisit the past or see the future?

Both formats include the same interactive voting, results, comments, member statistics, and leaderboard features.

Endless Picks & Instant Voting​

Give members a continuous stream of questions to answer. Voting works without a full page reload, and Next question makes it easy to keep playing. Members can change their vote where permitted, while the game prioritizes unanswered questions.

Each question supports a title, description, and optional separate images for both choices. A single connected results bar shows the vote split, with clear colors for open questions, winners, and ties.

See Who Voted​

Show a compact voter summary beneath question results. Choose member avatars (default) or linked usernames, and let visitors open a voter list showing who selected each choice, subject to result-viewing permissions.

Four Competitive Leaderboards​

Recognize your most engaged community members with:

• Most Picks — members who participate the most.
• Win Rate — members with the strongest results on completed picks.
• Daily Streak — consistent participation across days.
• Winning Streak — consecutive successful picks.

Dedicated leaderboard pages include member rankings and top-three highlights. Administrators can set the minimum number of completed picks needed for Win Rate rankings.

Personal History & Community Statistics​

Members can track their answered questions, wins, win rate, and daily streaks in Your Stats block. The Your Pick History page provides searchable, filterable records with choices, final outcomes, and result bars.

A modern horizontal statistics display showcases community-wide total questions, open questions, completed questions, votes, comments, and participants.

Full-Featured Question Comments​

Keep the conversation going directly below each question. The native-style commenting experience includes:

• Rich-text editing, BBCode, preview, and drafts.
• AJAX posting and editing, quotes, multi-quote, and mentions.
• Member reactions, comment history, and pagination.
• Permission-controlled guest and pre-registration comments.
• Comment reports, moderation, warnings, and spam protection.

Questions can also have an associated XenForo discussion thread, accessible through familiar Overview and Discussion tabs.

Watches, Notifications & Bookmarks​

Members can watch questions manually or through XenForo's automatic watching preferences, then manage subscriptions on a dedicated Watched Questions page.

Relevant alerts include watched-question comments, mentions, quotes, and final results. Native XenForo bookmarks let members save questions for later. Question watches remain separate from discussion-thread watches.

Today's Pick & Scheduled Questions​

Schedule questions with start and end dates, and let completed questions finalize automatically. Authorized staff can also schedule a Today's Pick to feature a question during a chosen period.

Categories, Browsing & Discovery​

Create categories for topics such as entertainment, technology, food, or general discussion. Each category has its own page and granular permissions.

Browse All Picks offers search, filtering, sorting, and question discovery. Recently added and popular questions give members more ways to find something interesting.

Six Native XenForo Widgets​

Promote participation across your forum using configurable widgets:

• Today's Pick — the current featured question.
• Random This or That — a new choice to explore.
• Recently Added Picks — the newest questions.
• Popular Questions — questions attracting votes.
• Leaderboard — display Most Picks, Win Rate, Daily Streak, and Winning Streak rankings in one widget with selectable tabs.
• This or That Statistics — activity at a glance.

The Leaderboard widget lets administrators select any combination of the four ranking types. Selecting multiple types displays native XenForo tabs, with rankings loaded when a tab is first opened; selecting only one keeps the compact single-list display. All four types are enabled by default for the widget created on a fresh installation.

The Endless Picks homepage brings gameplay, categories, discovery widgets, member progress, and community statistics together in a responsive layout. Widget placement and supported display limits are managed through XenForo's native widget system.

Permissions & Native Moderation​

Set category-specific permissions for viewing questions and results, creating questions, voting, commenting, uploading images, and moderator actions.

Questions and comments use familiar XenForo tools for reporting, approval, editing, deletion, restoration, and moderation. Moderators can work with the native Approval Queue, inline moderation, and moderator logs.

Admin Options​

• Voter summary display: Overlapping avatars (default) or linked usernames.
• Comments per page: Set the number of comments shown per page (default: 10).
• Leaderboard eligibility: Set the minimum completed-pick count for Win Rate rankings.
• Categories and permissions: Control access, question creation, voting, images, comments, and moderation per category.
• Question scheduling: Set voting periods and schedule featured questions.
• Widget settings: Choose placement, display order, item limits, and one or more Leaderboard ranking types. Multiple selected ranking types appear in tabs within the same widget.

Compatibility & Requirements​

• XenForo 2.3.0+.

• XenCustomize Core Library 1.0.4+ (required).

License Setup​

After installation, open the add-on options and select the License options tab to enter your license key. Bot Shield includes a Remove footer branding option, allowing administrators to remove the XenCustomize branding at no additional cost.

License verification may communicate with XenCustomize.com when needed, with locally cached verification results. Normal installation and uninstallation do not depend on our server being available. An expired license does not disable normal use of the add-on, but an active valid license is required for official support and access to new downloads or updates released after the license expires.
