Schedule content directly from XenForo​

Scheduled Content adds automatic publishing for both threads and replies while keeping the workflow familiar to XenForo users.

Users can prepare content in advance, choose when it should go live and continue using the forum normally. XenForo handles publication automatically when the scheduled time arrives.

Scheduled content is accessible directly from the user's native account menu.

Schedule complete threads​

Create a thread using the familiar XenForo editor and choose exactly when it should be published.

Depending on the forum and the user's permissions, scheduled threads support:

• Thread title
• Thread prefix
• Full XenForo rich-text editor
• Tags
• Scheduled publication date and time
• Recurring schedules
• Custom recurrence intervals
• Permission-controlled author selection for staff

Times are interpreted using the user's configured XenForo timezone, avoiding the need to calculate server times manually.

Schedule replies too​

Replies can be prepared in advance just as easily as threads.

Scheduled replies remain editable until publication and automatically post into their target thread when the scheduled time arrives.



This is useful for announcements, timed updates, event posts, maintenance messages, competition stages, recurring discussions and more.

Native XenForo reminders​

Scheduled Content integrates with XenForo's native bell alert system.

Users can receive an advance reminder shortly before their content is due to publish.



The reminder reflects the actual remaining time rather than displaying a fixed message.

After successful publication, another native XenForo alert confirms that the content has gone live.



Published thread alerts link directly to the new thread, while published reply alerts link directly to the new post.

Failed publications can also generate an alert so problems are not silently missed.

Manage everything before it publishes​

Pending schedules appear on the user's Your scheduled content page.

Each item clearly shows:

• Thread or reply type
• Target forum or thread
• Time remaining
• Author
• Current status

Scheduled content can be edited at any time before publication.

A compact action menu provides additional controls without cluttering the page.



Available actions include:

• Edit
• Publish now
• Cancel schedule
• Delete

Published content stays clear​

Once content has successfully gone live, its scheduled entry changes to a clear Published state.

Destructive schedule controls are removed from published entries.



A Clear recently published control allows users to remove completed schedule history without deleting the actual XenForo thread or reply.

Recurring publishing​

Scheduled Content also supports recurring schedules.

Available recurrence options include:

• Daily
• Weekly
• Monthly
• Custom interval in days

This makes it suitable for regular community discussions, recurring announcements, weekly threads and other repeated content.

Permission controlled​

The add-on respects XenForo permissions and keeps staff-only functionality away from normal users.

Normal registered users can schedule their own permitted content.

Staff can additionally be granted permission to:

• Manage all scheduled content
• Schedule content as another registered user
• Publish scheduled content immediately
• Manage recurring schedules

The author selector only appears to users who actually have permission to use it.

Forum prefixes are likewise only available where the current user is allowed to use them.

Administrators receive a dedicated ACP navigation section:

The management area provides visibility into scheduled, published and failed content, while the options page controls scheduling limits, reminders, publication alerts and history retention.
