This is my first add-on for XenForo so your feedback is welcomed.

This add-on uses a JavaScript widget that opens an overlaying message inviting mobile device viewers to add your website to their home screen.

The JavaScript used by this is called Add To Homescreen (ATH) and was made available via http://cubiq.org/add-to-home-screen under MIT Licence

Information

From http://cubiq.org/add-to-home-screen:

The script opens an always-on-top message inviting the user to add the application to the home screen. This is currently supported on iOS and Mobile Chrome. While other devices have the ability to bookmark any website to the home screen, only iOS and Mobile Chrome have a straightforward way to do it.

How does it look?

I only have iOS 8 devices to test as shown below:

iPhone:

thanks @rafass for the animated gif

iPad:

Demo:

www.certforums.com/pages/addtomobile

Obviously you need to visit the demo via a mobile device to see this working and I have the demo page setup to show every visit which is not how this would normally be setup.

There is also a live demo here which uses the default icon set via CSS:

Installation
  1. Upload the files to your forum directory from the 'upload' folder.
  2. Import xml file from the 'xml' folder.
  3. Configuration options can be set via the admin panel : Options > Add to Home Screen
Note: This add-on will use the image set in Style Properties: Header and Navigation > Facebook Open Graph Logo for the icon so if you have not set a custom image the default XenForo image will be used.

Awesome share and add-on. This add-on is very simple, but very helpful for returning visitors on the mobile device. This should be implemented within XF Core since so many people are using mobile technology these days.

I do believe the mobile view count and users will continually grow and be the primary inbound traffic within any website or page.

Awesome share man, it works perfectly and I would also agree with RobinHood to possibly add some simple usergroup permission.

Thanks for the review, I added some basic user group permissions
Very useful, and impressive resource. It worked perfectly across all iOS devices, as advertised and is a very useful addition to my forum. Thanks a lot.

Thanks for the review, I obviously can't take credit for the script itself. I thought it was a neat script that others would benefit from so shared it. Glad it was useful.
Fantastic first resource. Works perfectly on the iOS devices tested so far. Hopefully we'll see some permissions in the next version so that it only appears to registered members or specific user groups :-)
