XF 1.0 Pages

Pages allow you to manage simple content in the node tree. Find out more here:

The node list display could do with some improvements. We have some ideas about that.

The exact look of the auto-generated navigation is a work-in-progress as well. :)

Forinstance: I want to be able to make my own Help Tab.

or on this website, I might want to make a Resources Tab, with lists of resources.
as well, for this site, I would start creating a list of features under a Features Tab, as a method of attracting new customers.

Would Pages created as outlined here, work OK for this, or would they keep pointing to
http://xenforo.com/community/pages/features/
You can do anything at all that you want to with your pages. You can create your own help page and replace the current help page with it. The url on the tab will just be different, is all, as /pages/ will be in the url. .

Would it be possible to do this with pages.
Is it going to require Template hacking ?
That's exactly what the Pages are for.
Have you tried making a few test pages to see how they work and fit within the structure?

The only template edits which will be required is if you want to put the page links in the menu bar.

One thing xenForo should document is specifically what I have outlined:
(1) Make a Tab
(2) Make some Pages for that Tab.

Done. Now you have a Tab with what your site needs.

With "older forum software" that was needlessly hard.
Certainly this would show the forward thinking nature of xenForo.
Would make for an easy to produce "Tutorial" article which most everyone would benefit from.

I'm pretty much giving up on XF Pages as there's no sign of a WYSWYG editor. It's just too time consum, ing doing them in html and not being able to ask any of my excellent mods to do small updates.

Wordpress does the job beautifully. Editing an existing page can be usergroup permission, and the editor has a tab for html and a tab for WYSWYG.
Plus an inline Edit link on the page itself.
WP Pages don't integrate in the forum hierarchy or display but I can code a sidebar that links the two and once I've set it all up the updates are so much easier..

Shame. XF Pages were a great idea..

I'm really not understanding what you're talking about?
I think what they're talking about is this:
If you click on the 'services' tab, it pulls up the services page, but reverts to the 'forum' tab, with the forums content underneath it
If you click on their 'members' tab, it pulls up to the members page, and stays on the 'members' tab, with related content underneath

Of course I could be misunderstanding, and there may be something done wrong, but I'm assuming I'm not and they're not doing something wrong (a lot to assume, I know ;))
