XF 1.4 You Must Be Logged In

Some users are complaining that if they do not check the "stay logged in" button when they access the notification or conversation pulldowns it tells them that they need to be logged in. We recently relocated to a new server, that may be related.

The redirect is working flawlessly now BUT the original problem still persists.

If it's for some users, tell them to do a hard refresh of their browser - CTRL+F5.

No, i never experienced the problem. One of the other admins did, so I know the issuse was legit. I will get the lab rats to try ctrl+f5.

I've found that with Chrome on my Mac, even doing a forced refresh won't work. I end up having to restart Chrome.

We have been recommending emptying cache, hitting f5, hitting ctrl-f5 and rebooting devices-- this problem persists. On multiple computers and at least one iPhone.

Unless it's happening for every member on the site, it can only really be something related to the individual users.

Any idea what that something could be?

Perhaps they are blocking cookies?
Not checking stay logged in?
Browser issues?

That's all it can be really.

As far as not checking "stay logged in," should xenforo really be requesting that you log back in to view your inbox after you've just logged in? None of this messs is anything I can personally duplicate, but I don't think it's related to the check box.

No, which is why I suggested it could be browser related.

The other possibility is something to do with their ISP/connection.

There's not much we can do when the problem is user specific as it is in this case.

Thanks. I broke the news to the users that it is something with their settings and asked about their cookies settings. Small but vocal bunch...
