In what way?

I have just installed the latest version locally so I can check what it is you want to do.
 
There isn't the option to create custom tabs, but you can of course edit the phrases of the existing ones.

Can we disable certain tabs such as Version History/Updates?
Is this controllable based on the category of the resource?

Is there hooks in the templates to add your own tabs?

As long as it is extendable with add-ons that should solve the problem for most people :)

I would expect if not then you could just hide that with CSS.
 
The tabs are fixed in code so there are no configurable options.

Edit: I will need to check the templates for hooks - will do when I have time.

I don't think you can unless I'm missing something. There's no custom class applied for the tab.

I'll be down for multiple copies. At $20 USD I can pick up a few for the sites that I can definitely use it for & have been waiting for it and then pick up a few to attach to some of the other XF licenses in case I might need later.
