XF2 upgrade takes a long time

I just upgraded b1 to b2. The upgrade took a long time because of permissions (with 27mln posts)

Is this normal behaviour for every future upgrade or did it have to do with some specific bugfix so it was only needed in this upgrade?

If it's what I suspect it is, then it will be exclusive to the Beta 2 upgrade. However, can you quantify what "a long time" is? And how many users?

If it's the permissions thing as mentioned, there is a fix in beta 2 for a bug in beta 1 which potentially caused many duplicate permission combination entries to be created, which would specifically explain a much longer permission rebuild time. The B2 upgrade script should be removing the duplicate permission combinations from users and the permission rebuilder should be removing any unused permission combinations.

I wouldn't expect the permission rebuild speed in B2 to be significantly different from the speed in 1.x for a given number of permission combinations.

It is still "rebuilding trophies (2)", running for hours now (I would guess 8 hours).
Is there a way to check the progress? Looks like it hangs...

Edit: Cancelled the rebuilding and running master data rebuild to see if that will fix the problem...

Just as a point of comparison, how many rows do you have in xf_permission_combination in XF1 vs XF2 (now that you've run the subsequent rebuilds)? If they're not similar, that would either be a bug (if you haven't changed permissions; this was supposed to be cleared up in beta 2) or the cause of it potentially being slower.
