xf:dependent support with xf:select

I recently stumbled about the xf:dependent tag and its use with radio and checkbox. That's such a wonderful implementation which saves us having to write a handler to show/hide something based on a click. So props for making it available to us.

This, however, has led to me to wonder if in future this can also be extended for select tags? I can only assume that there might be considerable forms out there that would benefit from this too.
