I haven't seen a blue screen in a long time - and last time I did, it was because the hardware was failing, not the operating system. Windows doesn't break like that any more.
I've had issues with my work laptop and it's generally been driver updates that fixed it. Windows 10 itself is pretty good, but is still not totally immune to things like bad drivers. Can't speak to 11 yet since I only got my personal Win11 box less than 2 weeks ago.

I had issues with microsoft computers. They're always faulty. Was sold a lemon by a place here in my home town. Waste of money.
So i went with a mac. Have not looked back

Surfaces? Because those are the only Microsoft computers. Other computers running Windows are from other manufacturers (HP, Lenovo, Acer, etc.) and MS only provides the software. Glad you like your Mac but you can't judge the entire Windows-compatible PC industry based on one lemon. Otherwise, no one would ever drive cars.

My home gaming* PC dates from 2011 (yes, it's ancient) runs Windows 10 and is rock solid as is my work PC (much newer). Sounds like you might have had some bad luck with some dodgy Windows PCs which has distorted your view of them. Modern Windows and PC hardware is very stable for over a decade now.

Ultimately, no computer from whatever brand works 100% every time, just doesn't happen, including a Mac or iPhone.

*I've upgraded the graphics card several times over the years though.

No normal desktop pc's. They're faulty.

Yours was faulty...doesn't mean "they're faulty". Just like your negative experience, or lack thereof of Knownhost isn't representative of the vast majority of others. As far as the PC is concerned, judging solely by your past posts on this site, I'd put money that your issues were operator error. I've had, and have built, Windows PCs for years now and never had any major issues, and no issues I've had have been because of Windows. Not to say those issues don't exist...but they're certainly not as common as they were in the late 90s and shortly thereafter.

Surfaces? Because those are the only Microsoft computers......I've had, and have built, Windows PCs for years now and never had any major issues, and no issues I've had have been because of Windows.

Got 2 original Surface Books (2015 era - now running Windows 10) and one of the original Surface Pro's (the small one from 2013).... other than battery life (non-replaceable batteries) they've been rocking and rolling along really well. In fact, I use them to control the telescopes when I'm out doing captures.
Got a 2015 era Dell Optiplex 9020 running windows 10 that the only thing I've had to do was upgrade the spinning platter in it to an SSD and replace the CMOS battery. Have an Optiplex 7070 running Windows 11 that does my image processing and have had no issues with it (other than wanting more memory shoved into it).
I won't go into the other older Windows based computers (one still running Windows XP because of an app I use) that I've only had hardware issues with - can't blame that on Windows, but on age.
I HAVE had (from memory) twice that pushed updates caused issues...but I've had similar with my Mac also after an update (had to roll back to an earlier Time Capsule backup).

I'd put money that your issues were operator error.
This is generally what I've found in my years of providing support.
The other is some have purchased a "bargain basement" computer and the hardware crapped out or is sub-standard and they want to blame Windows for that issue.
Kind of like telling someone to install anti-virus software on their desktop computer to help prevent DDOS attacks on their website.

Generally the overall feedback I've seen about KnownHost has been positive. It seems that some people just have a negative outlook on everything that doesn't comport with what that they may not like for whatever reason and think that their outlook should apply to everyone.

Now thats what I call thread drift.
It happens.. especially when dealing with at least one respondent to said thread drift... he tends to go off-tangent with comments that can easily be disproven. And several choose to put point to the "disproving" of their ludicrous statements.
Of course.... at least MS and Apple get major updates out more frequently than XF currently does! 🙈:p
