The more I read this thread, the more I become convinced that aussiefooty is a plant by Xenforo management to keep us entertained while we wait on the new release. :)
I hope not, because that would imply that XF settled for less than their first, best destiny in their choice of plant...

Right, but there is also no need to renew until you need to upgrade to a new version or open a ticket. Right now, I am running without support as I wait to see when 2.2.13 shows up. No use spending money until it is needed.
I renew once it's close to expiring. Why? I don't want to miss out on the updates and the support.
 
But you won't. Once you need to download a new version or require support, renew then. Saves you money.

I did so just last week. Why? Because one of my 3 licenses was about to expire.
I have one over at vbulletin. I'm waiting for 2.3 to drop so i can import it over.

By your logic, you should buy it now to support the developers.

Same logic as renewing ahead of time to get updates when the last update was checks more than 3 months ago.

How about us 3rd worlders? :LOL: I have to renew my license as soon as it expires cuz every single day I wait, Turkish Lira loses value and I have to pay an expensive price for renewal :)
