hi! just have 2 questions before i purchase this bridge...

1. is this bridge valid only for 1 "pair" of wordpress & xenforo sites?
2. is there a guarantee that this bridge will not be "abandoned" in the future?

1. The license is based on the number of XenForo installations. Annual or lifetime licenses are valid for one XenForo install. If there is more than one install then I suggest the developer license - an unlimited and unbranded license. Plus this small group provides feedback on bugs and has early access to newer versions.

2. No. Sorry. There are no guarantees. Life happens. In August I stopped selling the bridge for several reasons. I dd a very poor job explaining why - and left some people upset. They didn't understand I was still working on the bridge but couldn't accept new orders because of driving and a new job. People who had licenses were still getting newer versions - but that didn't matter to some people. From that experience - no - there is no guarantee. I can only guarantee that I'll do my best. Do I use the bridge? All of the time. Do I develop it? Sometimes in my sleep

Oh - and I can tell you that this bridge functions with WordPress development version 4.1-beta2-30572 (last night's download).

Version 3.0
Version 2 was all about the admin panel on the backend, increasing the number of options, and adding more widgets. Focus has now turned to tightening the integration between WordPress and XenForo. The suggestion forum has a few great ideas already requested by license holders. Feel free to add your own ideas or to chime in with an agreement or disagreement regarding a feature request.

How far along is version 3?
Work on version 3 started a few days ago [ @vexx really got me excited about some ideas] and the focus will be on optimizing the code so that more XenForo methods and classes are used in the plugin. There is a brand new loader file completed . Other changes include optimized code as well as some structural changes in files. The main goal is to learn XenForo methods as well as set the foundation for expanding the bridge's features.

Currently the new 3.0 version loader activates properly and I'm working to connect the backend admin files developed in the 2.x series (the backend doesn't load properly due to text domain conflicts ... LOL).

A Realistic Time Frame
Version 2 took over 7 months to develop and stabilize. Version 3 is a far greater endeavor. However, I've learned tons of new ways to do things over the past few months, therefore, I hope to have an alpha for developers first quarter 2015. But - hey - it'll be ready when it is ready.

Version 2 bug fixes
The 2.0.2.06 release was the 42nd one. Some of those 42 versions never made it past my development environment or my live site but the 2.x series is extremely stable. But as bugs are found then I'll roll the fixes together into a new release. I already found two little ones in widgets. Please let me know if you find any bugs.

Additionally, if I find a way to improve a widget while coding the new version then that will be rolled into a new 2.x release. Fair enough?

Since I'm giving a second change to your addon () I've installed it on domain.com/blog/ and the XF site is on domain.com/xftest.

After enable your addon I configured the forum path and just right after save changes the addon redirects me to the XF site. Then, I log in with my admin account but I'm redirected to the forum home page.
If I try to log in WP-ADMIN I'm redirected to the forum. I have no way to log in the WP admin panel

1. Brogan Portal System or
2 Or Wordpress System.
I would prefer to have a WP as for portal system, but do you know some good WP them which could fit UI.X ?

I totally missed this message

Once the plugin is active then all accounts are done through XenForo side of the site. If you type /wp-admin then it must redirect to the XenForo login. Enter the XenForo admin account and it will log you in - and redirect you back to /wp-admin.

If this does not happen then something is going on with the IDs. Please go into the database and look at both to make sure the IDs are the same for XF and WP.

I love Brogan's work and use it as well as WordPress. I've also played with Extra Portal.

WordPress is an excellent blogging system for sites needing multiple authors and multiple blogs. However, if I may be bold - start using Brogan's CTA now then keep it. I'd suggest you wait a bit for Bob to release his article add-on and see if it is a better fit for your site.

WordPress 4.2 alpha testing started tonight. Creating a XenForo thread from a WordPress blog post worked.

WordPress 4.1 should be available for download on Monday Thursday.

The focus for 2.0.4 is getting rid of the use of the global variable. Also, the class-xenword.php file is being stripped to remove unused methods. The redux framework was updated as well as stripping out some extra files not needed for the plugin (sample directory, options file, etc). Load time in the settings panel is 51 queries at 1.7 seconds. It's still heavy.

In working through a new version, and reworking the class-xenword.php, I started to question the use of a relative path option in the $xenword_options.

Would you prefer an absolute path to the XenForo installation or should the use of a relative path be kept?

Unrelated. The eight month old bug in the widgets has been fixed and now I'm testing the release on a live production site.

Go to the XenWord settings panel. Click on User Permissions. Set the Default WordPress role.

Yes. You are misunderstanding because of an error in your database. When you activated the plugin, new fields should have been created in the tables. This did not happen for some installations. Generally I'm finding it is for those who did upgrades from 1.x to 2.x but the error doesn't show up on new installations of the plugin.

Once you have the table in the database set properly you'll see how the new 2.x release is miles ahead of what you are suggesting. This adds membership plugin compatibility as well as compatibility for custom roles.

I'm working on 2.1 todayand really love the class-file and structure. I decided to step through the changes rather than a full rewrite. The xenword.php main file no longer holds the loader. Next is to strip out the initialize XF method.

I'm also looking at adding a few new widgets.

Is there an option tu turn off the creation of users in the WP database? I don't need/want people to log into Wordpress, nor add unneeded info in the database.
