XenWord Pro [Deleted]

xenword has worked great on my site, kudos.

quick question -- I tried to create a child style of my existing XF style. When I switch to this style, XenWord breaks -- when I go to my homepage, the wordpress page isn't there. Do I need to tell XenWord somewhere else that my style has changed? Does it work off the XF default style?

thanks!

Do you have an error message in the server log?
Did you clear cache, etc?

Styles shouldn't matter. I'll wait for your response and we can go from there.

yes, cache is cleared there's no difference.

What is weird is that i'm getting the wp-admin link in the header as I should, but none of the stories are rendering on the home page

ie, the header and footer seem to render fine, but there's no wordpress content in the middle....

I just confirmed again, this happens when i switch to any style other than the one i've been using -- even if I copy the style in XF and create a new one, that new (identical) style has this same problem. Very weird...

Just to follow up further, i looked at the source of the working theme and the one that doesn't output any WP articles --

the page output is the same all the day down to the <!--main template --> comment in the XF PAGE_CONTAINER.

The working style then outputs:

<script type="text/javascript">
var switchTo5x=true;
XenForo._baseUrl = document.baseURI.replace('/index.php', '/');
</script>

.... and the proper wordpress articles follow.

the non-working style outputs:

<!-- h1 title, description -->
<div class="titleBar">
<h1>Sitename</h1>
</div>
<!-- main template -->

... then the site footer.

Again, the only difference between the two styles is the name; they are copies of each other.

baffling...

I want to confirm, you are only changing the XF style? This works on my local and live production site.

What are the names of the XF styles?

yes, only changing the XF styles. I tried copying the styles two ways -- first I just made a child style of the parent (otherwise identical to the parent), then I also exported the existing, working style and re-imported it with a different name.

It is the craziest thing -- the styles are literally identical to each other, except for the names. Could UI.X be an issue? When you copy a UI.X style does it not copy completely?

Very odd. I use UI.X on Tux Reports as an alternative to viewing the site. Are you using full friendly urls, local jQuery or CDN, and did you reupload the latest files from ThemeHouse ?

I'm upgrading to the latest version of the UI.X add-on as we speak.

This is easily the strangest bug i've seen in my years using XF.

Yes, I use full friendly URLs!

Wondering if somebody can help. I've installed the bridge and when I click WP login I redirect to XF. Login with admin and try to load /wp-admin and it redirects me back to the forum homepage.

It's a stock new WP install. So I have my one admin account on that. And have the user ID matching. Fortunately for me I didn't have to mess my XF admin account is also ID 1 even though the forum is 15 years old!

Anyway, stuck in a redirect.

I haven't missed with XF usergoups. I assumed my admin would be fine. So skipped that step "add secondary usergoups" so perhaps I have to add a new usergoup to my existing WP admin account?

@Donny

Entering/wp-admin would not work unless you are already logged into XenForo. This is due to wp_guess_url as a WP function.

If you log into XenForo then you should browse to WP and be logged into the site. If not, look at http:// and www to make these are matching.

@Jake B.
There is a thread_id stored in the WP meta table. Nothing is written to the XF database. I wish I knew how to get the WP post id stored in XF.

Turns out it was my usergroup settings for the XF. I had my admin account set as admin for primary and not member. Or something.

This has been an awesome plugin, many thanks.

The only issue I have is the Online Users Widget.

Currently, it shows ALL online users which is a nuisance when the average is between 500-700.

I've tried changing the below, but "The display options for the online members avatars" make no difference, nothing changes.

Any ideas would be really welcome! In an ideal world, I'd like, say 50 avatars to show but would settle for first 10 avatars.

Thank you for pointing this out. The online widget needs work. The select list is not tied to options and why nothing changes.

Sorry. This was a mistake on my part and I'll work to improve it for the next release.

Open House on Thursday
Training on Friday

This leaves Saturday as the earliest for me to look. Crazy week.

No worries at all LPH, incredible plugin and certainly no rush from me at least on any cosmetic fix as this.

Thank you @Chris D, @Mike, @NixFifty, and @DragonByte Tech for helping with the namespacing error.

There are months of work to complete but the major hurdles are now in the past. I hope :D

Lots of bugs and frustrating support, actually there isn't any support cause I dint see any respect to customer after 7 days that I've sent my requests

Do NOT use it if your forun is big, maybe its good for those people who they are at the start point.

Now im waiting for refund, if its like the support I have to wait for ages. lol
