Cool, thanks. I'm traveling for work so no hurry, lots to do before we can go public with it.

Love it so far, it should be perfect for what we're trying to do.
Glad to hear you're liking it. It's something I wanted for a long time and was really happy to see it come to life over the past year. I wasn't even intending on releasing it as an add-on but I recently found some stats that showed me how often it was being used, and that convinced me it would be a valuable addition to any XenForo forum.

we can't change the way media is being consumed online. if a scrolling homepage is what drives visitors to engage our content, so be it.

i'm counting on our community to come together and to use the forums in a way that is constructive and which drives our goals forward. if your homepage design keeps people engaged enough to see what we're all about, it'll be doing its job.

I haven't made it the "homepage" on my forums yet. I'll need to do some more testing before I do that. But at some point in the future, it'll definitely make sense to do so.

I mentioned in another post that when it's completely finished, it'll be a fully-functional social network like Facebook for those who want or need that sort of thing. But XenSocial, itself, will stay very clean as the other functionality will be added as sibling add-ons that work side-by-side with it.

Hi @Sal Collaziano

I had a chance to review your demo web site. This addon looks promising, congratulations. I have few suggestion.

1. I would add Forum tab as well just before Main Feed. I think that could be great. That could be great if you can make it configurable from ACP.

2. I believe the editor should be closed by default and only open when a user clicks the Reply button. This reduces visual clutter and avoids showing the editor to users who don’t intend to respond to a thread.
Alternatively, this behavior could be configurable, allowing administrators to choose whether the editor is open by default or activated on demand.

3. What is the behavior of the Create Thread editor across different thread types?
I tried selecting several different forums, but I couldn’t find any option to choose a thread type. Could you clarify how editor behave if multiple thread types determined in ACP for selected forum?

4. I’m sure this is already on your to‑do list, but I noticed a few minor design issues (spaces, alignment) with the editor that may be worth reviewing.

I don't disagree with what Sal said, I'd put the forums link to the right of the Main Feed title since it's secondary on that page.

It was my intention to bury the new thread editor at the top of the social feed page so an option to deactivate it would be easier.

Being able to post the first image in a new thread as a headline image above the text and below the thread title would make it more like a TMZ.com feed. As it is now, the images are stacked below like attachments making them appear secondary but all social media is now image driven, people post images just to draw attention when they don't actually have their own image, that's how important that first image has become. Maybe we can make that change ourselves but it would be great for it to be in the addon as an option.

Sorry if what I say is forum-blasphemy to some!

Good suggestions for improvement and enhancement...

1. I'll add a "Legacy View" tab (that term will be editable in phrases).
2. I'd like to get more input on this from other users before implementing it. Though having it as an option really couldn't hurt...
3. Thread types... Discussions, Articles, Questions, and Polls. This is on my to do list.
4. Design issues, like spacing and alignment, are always on my radar to fix. I don't see the issue with the image you shared, though. My eyes aren't what they used to be...

Okay, so you want it to be optional to allow the starting of topics from the social feed... This is another thing I'd LIKE to hear a few more people suggest/request. It's probably not an issue to make it optional - though I'm not the programmer and I'm not sure at what point some things create bloat or at one point there are too many options. I'm an amateur coder - a relative of mine pretty much finishes every project I start.

I will definitely keep the image idea on my to do list. I know exactly what you mean...
