The approach is no different to watched threads, conversations, followers, etc. In every case the plural term is used.

Dev site only. I'm waiting for post ratings to be upgraded and I'll then update my site.

Not really required doesn't mean it is useless. As Shelley states, it saves scrolling after long posts. It's also makes the date line make a little more sense and logically near things such as blog posts.

I think this is great because when you read a post and you want to see which is the user who created the post, you just need to keep reading instead of look at the left where the username is.
