Xenforo - installation directory

Currently I have DragonflyCMS installed in the root of my domain account. Is it possible to install Xenforo in a domain directory like domain.com/forums and point the site visitors there when they come to domain.com/index.php ? How can this be done? Thanks.

I am not sure I understand your question. My xF install is in a subdomain which created the structure of root/hpg/ and off my main page all I did was create a hyperlink to point there.
